The ilovegorgeous label was begun by friends Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington in 2006 when they discovered a mutual passion for making their children’s clothing rather than buying it from a shop. Both ladies had a background in fashion: Sophie had worked with Nona Summers and spent several years going back and forth between London and New York, working in television and studying philosophy; and Lucy had apprenticed with Sarah Spencer in New York after completing her studies at West London College of Fashion. Less than half a year after launching their brand, they were being commissioned by celebrities such as Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer, and they opened their first flagship shop within two years. Lucy and Sophie specialise in finding unique fabrics and using them to create delightfully unusual clothing that brings out a girl’s inner whimsy.
